PRE TREATMENT:
CHLORINE DOSING SYSTEM :-
Sodium Hypochlorite is dosed to reduce the bacteria, microorganism and organic matter
affecting the performance of PW Generation system Standards,
Dosage will be vary as per microbial content in Water will be in range of 3-4 ppm.
MULTIGRADE SAND FILTER :-
Multi grade filtration is considered for removal of suspended solids and turbidity in the water.
This is to safeguard the downstream equipment such as RO-EDI system. It consist of Vertical
Filter vessel which contain layers of filtering media i.e. Pebbles & Gravels.
SOFTENER SYSTEM :-
Softener is provided for to reduce the hardness of water using the principle of ion exchange.
The substances in the incoming water which causes hardness (calcium & magnesium ions) are
replaced by sodium ions, when the resin becomes saturated with calcium and magnesium, a
backwash regeneration cycle is instigated. A concentrated salt brine solution (NaCl) is back
washed through the resin, replacing the calcium and magnesium ions on the resin with sodium
ions.
PRE UF SYSTEM :-
Pre Ultra-filtration is considered for removal of Bacteria, viruses, colloidal silica & fine sand
etc. & thus to reduce SDI of water to increase the efficiency of RO unit by eliminating choking
of RO membrane. It includes hollow fiber membrane.
DOSING SYSTEM
ANTISCALENT DOSING SYSTEM :-
Dosage of Antiscalent solution into RO Feed water to control the scaling of RO membrane
due to high amount of silica in raw water. Sodium hexametaphosphate (NaPO3)6 dosing is
considered for this purpose. Dosage will be in the range of 5-6 ppm.
SMBS DOSING SYSTEM :-
The de chlorination is carried out with the help of Sodium Meta Bi-Sulphate, which
removes the presence of chlorine in feed water. This dosing helps to avoid oxidation of
membranes. The SMBS solution should be freshly prepared daily for effective working,
Dosage will be double of Chlorine content.
PH CORRECTION DOSING SYSTEM :-
After Antiscalent dosing pH correction dosing is done to keep the pH in the range of 7.8 to
8.9. Carbon dioxide content in water considered as important water & process
parameter. As carbon dioxide in gaseous form can pass easily through the RO membrane
& affect negatively on EDI process. Hence pH dosing is done which transforms Carbon
dioxide as ion and can be easily eliminated by the RO process, Dosage will be in the range
of 40 to 45 ppm as per the current water analysis. (Will be as per RO membrane
projection)
